چکیده
We construct an efficient emulator for two-body scattering observables using the general (complex) Kohn variational principle and trial wave functions derived from eigenvector continuation. The simultaneously evaluates array of principles associated with different boundary conditions, which allows detection removal spurious singularities known as anomalies. When applied to K-matrix only, our resembles one constructed by Furnstahl et al. (2020) [29] although reduced numerical noise. After a few applications real potentials, we emulate differential cross sections 40Ca(n,n) based on realistic optical potential quantify model uncertainties Bayesian methods. These calculations serve proof future studies aimed at improving models.

Emulating BLAST using database technology
Sequence alignment is very important for molecular biologists. Blast is a well-known family of heuristic approaches to solve this problem efficiently. Special purpose algorithms and datastructures, however, do not support the data abstraction offered by database technology. In this paper, we show that modern extensible database management systems, like the Monet system, allow performance compar...

Now if the beam covers an area A, the fractio...
متن کاملNuclear Structure and Nuclear Reactions
Atomic nuclei are the essence of the visible universe. Formed in the big bang or in cataclysmic astrophysical explosions, atomic nuclei are a crucial and intriguing part of the world. The basic features of atomic nuclei were understood in terms of the nuclear shell model in the 1963 Nobel Prize winning research of Eugene Paul Wigner, Maria Goeppert-Mayer, and J. Hans de Jensen. Since then, exte...
متن کاملHydrothermal Optimal Power Flow Using Continuation Method
The problem of optimal economic operation of hydrothermal electric power systems is solved using powerful continuation method. While in conventional approach, fixed generation voltages are used to avoid convergence problems, in the proposed algorithm, they are treated as variables so that better solutions can be obtained. The algorithm is tested for a typical 5-bus and 17-bus New Zealand networ...
